Sitting in a cafe in Austin gave me the perfect opportunity to have a 4G LTE showdown. I have a Nexus 5 on Sprint’s 4G LTE service, and my girlfriend has a Nexus 5 on AT&T’s 4G LTE and a Nexus 7 on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE. We all did a speedtest. Results below.
This was Sprint’s 4G LTE. The entire time I was in Austin for the weekend, my phone was beyond useless if I was on 4G LTE. I might as well have had data disabled since it was essentially the same thing. No texts, calls, or data was getting through and my phone was burning through it’s battery.
This was AT&T’s 4G LTE. It was wickly fast and worked. Nothing to write home about. Coverage was excellent and there were no issues.
This was T-Mobile’s 4G LTE. It was also fast and worked well. Coverage wasn’t as good as AT&T but it was consistently fast and reliable.
