Sounding Balloon – Spring 2008
• Team leader for Payload team, responsible for sensor and data integration of the sounding balloon.
• Designed a lowcost telemetry link using amateur packet radio.
• Designed low-cost microcontroller sensor system.
Icarus Sounding Rocket - Fall 2007 to Spring 2008
• Modeled transition section between second stage and payload stage in CATIA. The model was optimized in GAMBIT and analyzed with CFD tool FLUENT to find surface heating. Performed FEA with NASTRAN and CATIA to determine appropriate materials.
• Designed telemetry system using amateur packet radio which increased range while keeping cost low
• Designed a low cost remotely activated camera system to document the ascent and descent.
SAE Mini Baja Team - Fall 2004
• Modeled the frame in CATIA for structural analysis, then built the frame using steel tubing and molded the seat from fiberglass.
• Built the website for the team with updated build pictures to inform sponsors of progress.
